23 Aug Westpac opens ATM at Wigmore’s
Westpac has installed a new ATM at Wigmore’s Superstore in Vaimaanga.
The new machine is being unveiled today, with a celebratory sausage sizzle outside the store to raise money for the Creative Centre.
General manager of Westpac Cook Islands Brett Hooker said the area around Wigmore’s has recently seen an increase in the number of accommodation properties and small businesses, which has increased demand for a new ATM.
The machine joins a fleet of nine upgraded Westpac ATMs, which have new features such as allowing customers to change their personal identification number (PIN) to one of their choice, and a bill mix feature that informs customers of notes that are available if a certain note runs out, and gives them the option to withdraw another amount. There is also new receipt printing options.
Hooker said all are invited to come along to the sausage sizzle today.
“We’re inviting everyone to come down and help us raise much-needed funds for the Creative Centre. We are active participants in the community and this is an opportunity for us to demonstrate this,” he said.
“As part of Westpac’s continued investment in the Cooks Islands community, we provide the customers of the local bank Bank of the Cook Islands (BCI) unlimited access to our ATM and Eftpos network.”
Westpac operates in seven Pacific countries and has more than 400,000 customers in the region.
